MSMEs taking initiatives to promote Ease of Doing Business

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) led by Giriraj Singh, MoS (I/C) MSME, launched the Public Procurement Portal ‘MSME Sambandh’ in the national capital a month ago.


New Delhi, Jan 8 (India News) Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has introduced various initiatives including online filing of Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum in order to promote the Ease of Doing Business.

“Various steps taken by the Ministry include MSME Samadhan Portal- for empowering micro and small entrepreneurs across the country to directly register their cases relating to delayed payments,” official sources said.

MSME Sambandh Portal will help in monitoring the implementation of public procurement policy for micro and small enterprises while MSME Sampark Portal, a digital platform where in jobseekers (passed out trainees/students of MSME Technology Centres) and recruiters, connected.

Digital Payments will pass on the benefits of the schemes of Ministry of MSME through digital payment gateway, the sources said.

Giriraj Singh, MoS (I/C) MSME has said that despite the contribution of the MSME sector in the country, it is not given appropriate attention and importance. Highlighting the significance of the sector, Singh informed that over 80 per cent of jobs in industry is given by MSME with just 20 per cent of investment.

Regulating the functions of the MSMEs, the Government has enacted the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MSMED) Act, which is applicable to all the States and Union Territories.
